I am a physical therapist, yoga teacher and pilates instructor.
I live in the space between physical therapy, yoga and pilates where each informs the other. I love movement, and became a physical therapist to teach movement and provide safe spaces for embodiment under the medical model.
What They're Saying
Kate has a unique and inquisitive understanding of how the body works. The knowledge she brings to her movement practices and physical therapy clients is substantial. Her voice, and teaching, is clear, consistent, and encouraging and she holds a comforting space. Working with Kate brought insight into how I can further look into the actions of my own body, understand what I need to work on, and continue on this path of self-healing.
Nathan Wisdom, E-RYT 200, Operations Manager - Flow Yoga
Kate brings her extensive knowledge about the pelvic floor as a pelvic floor physical therapist. She is unique in both the world of physical therapy and yoga as the two disciplines can strongly inform the other and Kate can use the best tool for the individual who is in front of her.
Leslie Howard, Author of Pelvic Liberation
Kate has a deep respect for the body itself and also a deep respect for what it means for people to inhabit this very body with a sense of compassion, autonomy and wholeness. She brings this care into her teaching. Kate is savvy, ever-prepared, and a consummate professional. She thinks bravely and critically about her work, and inspires us to do the same.
Sarah Clark, Interconnected Yoga
Kate brings years of teaching wisdom to the practice. With a clear voice and an eagle eye, she works to support students arrive in a centered, embodied practice. In a single class, and with a simple adjustment, she helped me isolate an action that has very literally changed the way I think about and practice downward facing dog.
I also can’t speak highly enough of Kate’s mastery of physical therapeutics. She effortlessly integrates her knowledge from her training as a physical therapist into the yoga practice. I come to Kate to deepen my own knowledge of the practice. She is truly a teacher’s teacher.
Nathaniel Amos, MSW, LICSW
Kate is a proficient, compassionate practitioner who’s curiosity seems to guide her toward understanding and treating the underlying cause of the issue. I’ve had experience with her as a patient and a referring provider and can not recommend her highly enough.
